"Nigeria is becoming a beggar nation as a result of corruption"

Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso, the archbishop of Catholic Diocese of Kaduna has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure the proper utilisation of all money recovered from looters.

This comes on the heels of the economic crisis bedeviling the nation.

According to him, Buhari should urgently stop the hardship because there are clear signs of Nigerians’ sufferings as even an archbishop like himself was feeling the pinch, The Cable reports.

He blamed the hardship on “recklessness and corrupt practices of some people who have no concern for the well-being of the generality of Nigerians”.

Ndagoso said: “Nigeria is becoming a beggar nation as a result of corruption, which has impoverished the people

“Our nation is almost like a begging nation now, because workers cannot be paid, pensioners are dying, everybody is suffering. Even myself as Archbishop, I am feeling the pinch; there are very clear signs that people are suffering in the land.

“Those who stole our money and kept in America, whether they have built houses in Abuja or Kaduna or anywhere , I think they should return it and if it is returned it should be properly used to make a life worth living for Nigerians.”
