Professional makeup artist Bimpe Onakoya and her husband were robbed at gunpoint by armed men in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The couple was stripped of all their belongings that were on them including their passports thus they are now stranded in South Africa just one hour after landing in South Africa on Sunday, June 26, 2016. Below is what she wrote on Instagram:

“My hubby and I were robbed at gun point this morning in Jo’burg, less than 1 hour after touch down, they crossed our car, four guys came out armed to the teeth with sophisticated looking guns, they emptied us, took everything, my makeup box, my camera and lenses, 2 Mac laptops, all our clothes, our international passports, so right now we don’t have identity in a foreign land, the police have been wonderful to us, still trying to find a solution to this mess!!! #strandedinjoburg!!”

After her first outcry, the Nigerian consulate came to their aid. They provided new phones, change of clothes among other things. The MUA makeup boss wrote on Instagram that:

“This has been one of the longest days I have had in a while! But you know through all, God always places help around for his own children. My hubby and I are fine and unharmed. Apart from some initial confusion, the Nigerian consulate has been very helpful to us. They have accommodated us, given us funds to buy phones and a change of clothes and even fed us. May God bless them real good. We are also grateful to the South African Police that made sure we were attended to, and the officer that also borrowed me his phone to make the previous post so that our loved ones will know the situation. We are moving past this traumatizing experience with thankfulness to God for allowing us to come out with our lives. Thank you all so much for the show of love. We really appreciate you.”
