PDP tells President to fix economy, leave opposition leaders alone

The PDP made its comments via a communiqué released at the end of a meeting held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, in Akure, Ondo State.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to focus on fixing the country’s economy instead of chasing opposition leaders under the guise of an anti-corruption war.

The PDP made its comments via a communiqué released at the end of a meeting held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, in Akure, Ondo State.

The communiqué reads:

The Federal Government must tackle the issues of unemployment, terrorism, Fulani herdsmen’s attacks, inflation, infrastructural decadence and militancy that have permeated every part of this country without actions to check the sufferings of the masses.

The zonal chapter also calls for the implementation of measures that will ameliorate the sufferings of the masses as the APC administration has dissipated most of its energy on an anti-corruption crusade which, unfortunately, seems to be targeted at only the leaders of the opposition, particularly in the South-West.

Contrary to the thought of the APC-led Federal Government, we, in the South-West PDP, want the government to succeed in contributing its quota to the growth and development of this country.
