Lagos government sets to install at least 13,000 CCTVs

Commissioner for Information says device will be installed across state

Project to be completed within two years

On Wednesday, August 17, the Lagos government stated that moves are on the way to install 13,000 Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras across the state, as well as 6,000 streetlights security sensors to ensure surveillance and reduce crime.

The government said the CCTVs will ensure safety of lives and property of residents.

Steve Ayorinde, commissioner for Information and Strategy as well as other top government functionaries, revealed this, while assuring Lagosians that the CCTV would become operational from October.
