The United States presidential election comes to a final day today, Tuesday, November 8 as their citizens take to the polls to decide who will become the 45th president in the most powerful nation in the world.
In an election that many have described as a toxic and bitter, Hillary Clinton who is the candidate of the Democratic Party go head-to-head with Donald Trump, the candidate of the Republican Party.
In an unprecedented situation, Clinton became the presidential candidate of a major party and will be the first female president if she wins. Likewise, Trump would be the first president who moved directly from being a businessman to the White House if he wins as he has never been elected or appointed to a political position or served in the military.
While voting is only allowed for US citizens and some states allow early voting, the world watches as the country decides on the final day of election who will be the next US president. Due to the position of the country in the world especially the strong diplomatic relations Nigeria has with US, Nigerians too are keenly interested in who emerges president.
