Sahara Reporters has obtained the information that Bayelsa Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has reportedly unlawfully diverted a loan he received from Union Bank of Nigeria to buy a high-class property in Beverly Hills, California in 2007.

Some sources said that the N11 billion loan Ben Bruce took out from Union Bank around 2007 was aimed to be used to construct the Abuja Entertainment Center.

However, instead of using the loan to fund his Nigerian business operations, Bayelsa politician averted it to procure a lavish property in the Beverly Hills area of Los Angeles and London.
This information was confirmed by the Los Angeles County Property Assessor’s Office, the Real Estate Records office, and the Special Investigation unit.

The Nigerian senator from Bayelsa state bought a property on August 6, 2007 and is still its owner the owner. The address is 605 North Camden Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90210.

Municipal employees in Los Angeles County estimated the value of Senator Bruce’s land at $3.1 million.

The price of the house and other structures at the property was assessed at no less than $795,000.
The mansion has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a swimming pool and is assessed to be at least 2,777 square feet. The investigation shows that the property is worth $5 million as of today.

The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) has on June 23 seized several of Ben Bruce’s Silverbird media companies for not making payments on billions of naira in loans.

Ben Bruce, the self-proclaimed Commonsense senator, was one of the most voices of the #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira campaign, a movement that criticizes those who uselessly import foreign goods.
