General Ihejirika dismisses reports of arrest

 A close associate of Azubuike Ihejirika has described the reports of the arrest of the retired general as the handiwork of mischief makers

 Says the retired general has been in his house in Asokoro since Tuesday, June 21 and was neither invited by the DSS nor was he arrested as widely reported in the media

 Ihejirika was seen driving out of his compound in company of a friend, and in high spirit

A close associate of General Ihejirika described the reports of the arrest as the handiwork of mischief makers.

 Former chief of army staff, (COAS)Lt. General Onyeabor Azubuike Ihejirika has dismissed reports circulating in the media that he was arrested by the officials of the Department of State Service (DSS) on Tuesday, June 21 over allegations of fraud committed during his reign as COAS.

According to Vanguard, a close associate of the retired general when contacted described the reports as the handiwork of mischief makers adding that it is a figment of imagination of the authors of the

 The source said the retired general has been in his house in Asokoro since Tuesday and was neither invited by the DSS nor was he arrested as widely reported in the media.

“Here is a man who did a lot by fighting security challenges bedeviling this country particularly insurgency that was threatening the unity and oneness of the country to the best of his ability as COAS” the associate said.

Vanguard reports that the Ihejirika was seen driving out of his compound in company of a friend, and in high spirit.

 Meanwhile, Colonel Sambo Dasuki, former national security adviser, has told the court that God will judge those who are prosecuting him for his old grievances, Vanguard reports.

He added that he is being punished by some people at the highest level of power in Nigeria for perceived grievances held against him while in active army service many years ago.

 While he did not name any specific person, former NSA said that the punishment being prepared for him was unfortunate having been borne out of mere vendetta.
