Police nab two Nigerians with 222 grams of drugs in India

Police in India says it has arrested some Nigerians with hard drugs in Delhi

The two men Odininake Chukwu Eugene and Ebere Edward were reportedly trading the narcotics and still had more in their possession

The police said the men were arrested following a tip-off and after a search of their apartments turned up drugs concealed in polythene bags

Two Nigerian men have been arrested by Indian police for being in possession of cannabis and selling same.

India Today reports that the men Odininake Chukwu Eugene and Ebere Edward were arrested in Delhi and 67 bottles of beer and 2 bottles of hard liquor were recovered from them.

Eugene is a resident of Port Harcourt River state while Edward is resident of Festac in Lagos state.

It reports that the arrest was made after the police was tipped off about sale of drugs and liquor at the basement of H. No. 23 Krishna Nagar, S.J. Enclave.

A police team conducted a raid at the spot and the two men were arrested and illicit liquor, which they had planned to sell was recovered.

On further search, 102 grams of ganja, packed in 20 small polythene pouches were also reportedly recovered from the possession of accused Eugene and another 120 grams packed in 15 polythene pouches was recovered from the possession of accused Edward Ebere.

Meanwhile, the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said that its operatives did not subject popular actor, Babatunde Omidina, to physical torture during the period he was incarcerated by the agency for allegedly being in possession of hard drugs

The head of public affairs of the NDLEA, Mitchell Ofoyeju, in an interview with PUNCH on Thursday, reacted to an allegation by Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi that Baba Suwe’s health had deteriorated due to torture at the agency.
