Burna Boy is a magician, these are his secrets to success

Burna Boy’s reemergence into the forefront of things is an amazing show of hard work, resilience, luck and good timing.

He has had many challenges to contend with over the years, fought many battles as well as left a web of controversies in his wake. Still, he is one of the finest talents around here and it is not so much a surprise that he has maintained his success and enjoyed this level of acclaim.

Because Burna Boy is not just a talent, he is an incredible hustler. His body language shows you how hard working he is, how relentless he could be and how far he is ready to go to achieve something as long as he has his heart set to it.

This is the story of bravery, the story of never-say-never, and the story of being truly Nigerian whatever the odds. As Nigerians, we are kind of used to coming tops whatever the odds and though this is an impressive feature it is overall a gift and a curse.

It is a gift because it’s strengthened us as a people, given us the right push, instilled an adequate amount of relentlessness in us and all that.

On the flip side, it is a curse because not only do we sometimes fail to plan, our leaders and those in authority also fail to implement the right agendas as well as provide us the right resources only to turn around and expect us to make miracles like raising the dead as was in the holy book.

It is the story of our very existence as Nigerians, so commonly replayed despite being out of touch with reality, which is why the Nigerian Olympic team upon failing to do greatly at the Rio Olympics in 2016 were blamed by a serving minister of the federal republic of Nigeria.

According to this amazing leader, our athletes failed to do well at the Olympics because they lacked the right mentality. In his logic, you needn’t prepare much for a tournament, just have the right mentality and you are good to go regardless of inadequate resources and a flight ticket to the competition venue, among other things.

It is as bizarre as it is laughable but this is Nigeria where anything goes.

Back to Burna Boy and his remarkable feats, we see a young man doing big things and we love his success story.

But then, for every milestone there is we are unaware of the struggles, the pains and the sleepless nights put into the process.

You see, talent is never enough which is why many gifted minds never really make it to the peak of their careers.

Burna Boy is the story of grit, hustle, pains and eventual victory. He is a renegade who is aware of his level of musicianship and so works perhaps twice as hard to make up for his excesses.

He has a streak of controversies and his social media image is blotted here and there but whatever you say about the 25-year-old, you can’t but respect his grind and persistence.

His ascension into greatness, therefore, does not come as surprising because he has burnt the midnight oil time and again.

He is a true star, a gigantic dancehall figure whose renown will be expressly talked about around the world because again – this is a man who knows his worth and has put in work to cement his lead as a frontliner.

It is what it is.
