The woman who reportedly died in a hotel after she and her boyfriend checked in was said to be married with children.
The woman who reportedly died in a hotel in the Ikotun area of Lagos State on Friday, July 15, after she and an alleged boyfriend checked, has been identified by her neighbours who say she was a married woman who left her husband and children at home after deceiving them that she wanted to visit a friend, only to end up dead.
Punch reports that according to neighbours of the deceased identified as Iya Ginika, she was in her 50s but allegedly kept secret boyfriends and sex patner
The
neighbours said they were shocked when news filtered in that the body
of a woman had been found inside a room in the hotel known as Taola
Hotel, located on Prince Adeyemi Street, a few streets from where the
woman lived on K & S Street, Abaranje Road, and more so when they
went there to find that she was the one.
A
neighbour of the deceased said her husband told them she said she wanted
to go and collect something from a friend on Prince Adeyemi Street when
she left the house at about 9pm.
“We heard from Daddy Ginika
that at around 9pm on Friday, Iya Ginika told him that she wanted to
visit a friend on the street where the hotel is located. The husband and
her children became confused when she did not return.
It
was the following day when the news of her death was broken that the
husband realised he had lied to him. She was about 50 years old.
Her
husband is a motorcyclist and he tries his best to provide for the
family. She used to run a lotto shop but later stopped. She sold fish
and soup ingredients before her death."
The bereaved husband who identified himself as Henry,
said he was confused and in great shock at the way his wife died,
adding that she had an issue with high blood pressure before her death.
“She suffered from high blood pressure before her death. We will bury her later this month.”
However, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Supol Dolapo Badmos, said the police were still on the trail of the fleeing lover.
