APC is likely to lose in 2019 Tanko Yakasai explains why

Kano-based elder statesman Tanko Yakasai predicts the defeat of the ruling party in 2019

The ex presidential adviser in the Second Republic (1979-83) thinks Buhari will suffer a defeat because of the worsening economic conditions

Yakasai endorses Chief Dokpesi as the new chairman of the ex-ruling party

Nigerians on social media are divided whether the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will return, or it is “dead and buried”

Tanko Yakasai, an ex presidential adviser, states the All Progressives Congress (APC) is likely to lose the 2019 general election, if the poll in conducted in a fair and free manner.

Vanguard reports the elder statesman said Nigerians will vote out the APC out due to developing poverty and increase in the cost of living.

“In my opinion, Nigerians will vote out APC in 2019 because they are complaining over the cost of living and the rate of poverty is on the increase. I don’t see how APC will win if they don’t manipulate the process.

“How much was a dollar last year, how much is it now? What about the cost of bag of rice, basket of tomatoes and others. Farmers are complaining about fertilizers but it was not like this when PDP was in power.”

Chief Raymond Dokpesi who met Tanko Yakasai in Kano received total support from the elder statesman.

“I am convinced that you are at the right age to lead PDP. I am committed to assisting you but I will listen to anyone that come but I will tell them my commitment,” he said.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will host its national convention in for Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

However, Yakasai’s statement on the fate of the now-ruling party made Nigerians talking. Even if he is right, then does it mean the PDP would be back?!

Jamilu Sunusi Ibrahim Gwangwan wrote: “Yakasai U Express Your View But Is Lie We Nigerians We Will Re-vote Him Again In 2019.”

“PDP will finally die in 2019 not APC,” Yakubu Obadiah opined.

“Then which party will come in 2019? Is it PDP? This man you are not sincere to this country. May God have mercy on you sir,” Yahaya Danjuma commented.

“So you are suggesting that we should vote looters back to power so that they can finally “kill” Nigeria?” Peace Ichipi wondered.

However, many social commenters are in support of changing the “change”.

Stephen Omonigho Davison wrote: “I don’t want APC nor PDP, let new parties with fresh mind come to play.”

“How can PMB win 2019, when he want to kill everybody with hunger, can a death person vote?” Mike Baba commented.

“For sure 100% they never won Fairly underage voting and ringing they have brought hunger and untold hardship and incompetence,” Joe Nest agreed with the prediction by the veteran politician.

“Sure, same people that vote them in will, still vote them out,” Dongil Hero concluded.
