APC shows support for Jimoh Ibrahim after PDP disowned him

APC retweets Jimoh Ibrahim’s announcement that he picked up his form for Ondo governorship race on Thursday

Jimoh Ibrahim picked up his form in Abuja on Thursday from factional chairman of the PDP, Ali Modu Sheriff

PDP says Jimoh Ibrahim is not known to the party because he is not a member of the opposition

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has made an unusual gesture of support for an embattled Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) bigwig.

The ruling party on Friday re-tweeted a post from Jimoh Ibrahim, who has been disowned by his party, the PDP, in what can only be described as a show of solidarity.

APC’s move appears even more unusual given that Jimoh Ibrahim is expected to run against the APC’s candidate in the Ondo governorship elections.

We recalls that Jimoh picked up his form to officially kick off his race for the Ondo governorship seat slated for later this year from factional chairman, Ali Amodu Sheriff on Thursday.

But the PDP on Thursday, through its Director of Media and Publicity in Ondo state, Ayo Fadaka stated that Jimoh was never a member of the opposition party.

Fadaka said, “I can confirm to you that Jimoh Ibrahim is not a member of our party, the PDP, he has since been rid of his membership and we all know that he is a bonafide member of the Accord Party.

“So, for him not to be making a somersault to pick a form of PDP is a shameless thing anybody can do in this situation.

”Also I want to confirm to you again that Jimoh Ibrahim, apart from the fact that he is not a member of our party, he does not have any relationship with the PDP in any case; and if he is taking a form from Sheriff, he confirms to the entire world where Sheriff is coming from “
