Okorocha returns to Owerri after 18days

Okorocha returns to Owerri amidst cheers from supporters, after 18 days of vacation abroad

The governor says he is hale and hearty and is not ready to die

He admits that he went to the land of the dead but was turned back by his ancestors

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has said he is not in a hurry to die, as he will live to complete his assignment for his people, Vanguard reports.

Reacting to rumours that he was ill and went to an Indian hospital for medical treatment, Okorocha told a large crowd that gathered at the Sam Mbakwe airport in Owerri to welcome him after 18 days of vacation, that he went to the land of the dead but was turned back by his ancestors.

He said: “I am not in a hurry to die; I will live to complete my assignment for Imo people.

“I went to the land of the dead and our ancestors turned me back saying it was not yet time.”

The governor acknowledged that he had a challenge that took him far from the physical.

He told the crowd that he was healthy and strong, adding that those who wished him dead were enemies of the state.

He was welcomed by high powered State Executive Council delegation, led by the Secretary to Imo state government, Sir George Eche and other chieftains of the party.

We recalls that Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Sam Onwuemedo last week denied reports that Okorocha went for medical treatment at an undisclosed Indian hospital.

According to Onwuemedo, Okorocha travelled outside the country to attract investors to Imo.

Shortly after the governor’s departure, it was widely rumoured that the governor’s health condition was bad.

However, Onwuemedo said his boss travelled to the United States of America to see his daughter and grandson, as well as to attract investors.
