Adeyanju says if he wins, he would revolutionise the party’s publicity office and improve its communication processes with the public

Aspirant for the position of the national publicity secretary of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Deji Adeyanju has revealed what the party would do to high court judge who ruled against the holding of the party’s national convention.

According to Adeyanju, the party will issue a strong warning to the judge, Justice Okon Abang from the opposition party’s convention ground on Wednesday, August 17.

“Abang is embarrassing the judiciary & we will issue a serious warning to him at the Convention ground,” Adeyanju tweeted on his official Twitter handle on Tuesday, August 16.

Adeyanju also reeled out his plans to improve on the party’s communication with members and the public if he is elected as its national publicity secretary.

“When we win, our plan is to identify 6 Publicity Secretaries in the 6 Geo-Political Zones and make them very influential.

“For instance, we will identify a Chairman in the North West and make him speak always on TV and Radio. We will empower him & make him strong

“The National Publicity Secretary must not speak on all issues and always. These 6 Zonal Publicity Secretaries will be very vocal.”

But he will face stiff competition from veteran journalist, Kola Ologbodiyan among others.

The statement read in part: “…the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a law abiding Party is obeying the Order of the Port Harcourt, Federal High Court until set aside by any competent Court of jurisdiction.

“In view of the above, the 2016 Repeat National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will continue as scheduled as we welcome all delegates, party leaders, other critical stakeholders, INEC monitoring team and other friends of PDP to Port Harcourt, Rivers State while wishing all our members and supporters a successful national convention.”
