Police nabs cultists while planning another havoc in Ikorodu

 – Cultists flee as police arrest two members in Ikorodu

 Operatives of the Lagos state police command have arrested two suspected cultists, Sunday Oteje and Monday Olatokun over the panic that occurred in Ikorodu on Monday, August 8
Oteje, 24, a resident of 47, Zion street and Olatokun, 22, of Unity road, Ajegunle were both nabbed by operatives in the Ikorodu area command of the state.

 The suspects were allegedly apprehended with cutlasses, while they were holding a meeting on how to wreak havoc in the area.

 Confirming their arrest, the police public relations officer Dolapo Badmos, said detectives from the Owode Onirin division got intelligence reports that cultists would unleash mayhem on Monday, August 8, before their arrest.

She stated that the command acted on the information and intensified patrol in the areas, which led to the arrest of the suspects at about 2:20pm on Zion street, while other confraternity members fled.

 She further said the criminals confessed to be cultists, who were planning to strike.

She added that they have been transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for further investigation. Meanwhile, cultists in Ikorodu area of Lagos have continued to impose their threats on residents in the environs.
