Diarrheoa kills 10 in Abuja

At least 10 people have died from an outbreak of Diarrhoea in Wassa community, Abuja Municipal Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.

Premium Times reports through the News Agency of Nigeria that the casualties were confirmed today Friday, November 11 by Rilwanu Mohammed, the Executive Secretary, FCT Primary Healthcare Development Board.

Mohammed revealed this at the flag-off of the third round of polio outbreak vaccine response in Abuja, while also disclosing that the disease affected 38 people.

“Clean hands can stop germs from spreading from one person to another and throughout an entire community.”

He said the FCT is also doing a lot to vaccinated children in the region.

“We observed that there was an influx of new people from Monguno and Gwoza in Borno state with their children that were previously vaccinated,’’ he said.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari and Senate President Bukola Saraki reportedly met again on Friday, November 11 at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Saraki’s senate is being lobbied by the presidency to approve an almost $30billion dollar loan for capital project that could include construction of health facilities.
