Obasanjo calls for transparency in Stock Exchange

OBJ said for Nigeria’s economy to grow, investors need to be confident about the stock market.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has called on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to put measures in place that will make sock investors more confident.

Obasanjo added that if transparency, stability and credibility can be guaranteed in the stock market, recession will a thing of the past.

OBJ said this while meeting with the Director General, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Mounir Gwarzo, on Thursday, November 3, 2016, in Abeokuta.

The former President also added that for Nigeria’s economy to get back on its feet, investors need to be confident about the stock market.

According to Vanguard, Obasanjo said the Nigerian stock market has turned many billionaire to millionaires, and millionaires to ‘thousandnaires’.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo also assured young Nigerians that the country will overcome the challenges it is going through currently.
