Buhari appoints new commandant (Photos)

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed new commandant for the Nigerian army school of infantry (NASI).
This was announced in statement by the military. He is Brig Gen A. O. Folorunsho. President Buhari has come under strong criticism for replacing Dr. Ibe Kachikwu as group managing director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.

Appointments made by the country’s president in the last one year have been observed largely to tilt in favour of the North.
In the security circles in particular, at least 14 key posts are occupied by the North as against only three held by southerners.

Nigerian legislators, meanwhile, reacted to the president’s supposed lopsided appointments along political party lines with the All Progressives Congress lawmakers taking sides with Buhari, while those of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party criticised the president’s appointments.
