APC is delighted that PDP members supported Buhari for first time
Ben Bruce says Buhari is not witch-hunting opponents with anti-corruption war
Omokri says Buhari’s appointments are right if they deliver results
All Progressives Congress (APC) has saluted stalwarts of opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for supporting the works of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The party applauded Bayelsa senator, Ben Murray-Bruce for slamming claims that the ongoing anti-corruption war of the present administration is a witch-hunt.
“The admin’s anti-corruption war isn’t a witch hunt. In my opinion, we need it. If you’re innocent, prove your innocence. Don’t say witch hunt!” Ben Bruce tweeted on Monday, August 1.
Also, former aide to ex-president, Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri also shut down arguments that Buhari’s appointments are lopsided. In a tweet on Monday as well, he said as long as the appointments produce results, they were all right.
“The hullabaloo about Buhari’s appointees coming from the North is in my view unnecessary. What should matter is if they’re competent or not!” Omokri submitted.
The APC, which was no doubt elated by the show of support for Buhari’s administration by the very popular opposition supporters, wrote in return: “There’s a time for partisan politics, and a time for national development. This is how to make progress.”
We recalls that Ben Bruce and Omokri are staunch supporters of the past administration of Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP, who heavily criticise the activities of President Muhammadu Buhari.
